FESTIVAL OF DOVER

The Festival Of Dover 2008 has now drawn to a close but WATCH THIS SPACE.

Dover Town Council inaugurated the 'Festival of Dover' to ensure that local organisations in Dover had an opportunity to advertise their events and meetings to a wider audience than would have been possible otherwise.

Although the Council did arrange for several 'special' festival events in 2008 its main role was as a facilitator, to put organisations who could mutually benefit each other by sharing resources in touch with each other. Also to try to ensure that a calender of events was available to as wide an audience as possible so that any events which were organised and advised to the Council could be included on the website and included in the printed calender which was available from the Council office in Maison Dieu House, Biggin Street.

There were events which could not be included in the calender as they were not advised in sufficient time to enable them to be included.

It was always intended that the festival would occur every 4 years and so the next one (we hope) will be in 2012. Start planning now and let us know as soon as possible what's going on. Please note that this is subject to approval by Council and this will be put to the new Council after the 2011 elections.

In the meantime, although the Festival Website will be in abeyance for a while, events can still be advised to the Town Council for inclusion on the Council's main website www.dovertown.co.uk.
