Minutes of the meeting of the POLICY COMMITTEE held at the Council Offices, Maison Dieu House, Biggin Street, Dover, on Tuesday 19th February 2008 at 6.00pm.

652. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Members present made no declarations of either personal or prejudicial interest.


653. MINUTES

The Committee considered the Minutes of the meeting held on 22nd January 2008.

RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the meeting held on 22nd January 2008 be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.


654. COMMITTEE BUDGET

The Committee noted the latest draft out-turn against the Committee’s 2007/08 budget.


655. PUBLIC/MEDIA RELATIONS

The Committee noted the Town Clerk’s report dated 30th January 2008 concerning the production of the Town Council newsletter.

The Committee considered the Town Clerk’s report dated 30th January 2008 concerning the Town Council’s marketing/PR/advertising strategy.


RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be charged with day-to-day media activity, whilst keeping the Policy Committee informed.




656. FAIRTRADE

The Committee noted the meeting notes of the FairTrade meeting held on the 22nd January 2008 and the oral report from the FairTrade Steering Group Chairman.


657. URGENT DECISION

The Committee noted urgent decision UD 07/08 – 076, dated 30th January 2008, concerning the change of banner supplier.


658. RAY WARNER FILM COLLECTION

The Committee considered the Chairman’s letter to the Museum dated 13 December 2008 and Mr Jon
Iveson’s response dated 17th January 2008

RESOLVED: That the Chairman confirm in writing the Town Council’s agreement to the amendments to the contract made in Mr J Iveson’s e-mail dated 17 January 2008 and request an invoice to be raised by Dover District Council prior to the conclusion of the 2007/8 financial year.


The Chairman declared the meeting closed at 6.36 pm
