Minutes of the meeting of the PLANNING COMMITTEE held at the Council Offices, Maison Dieu House, Biggin Street, Dover, on Wednesday 24th October 2007 at 6.00pm.

Members present made no declarations of either personal or prejudicial interest.
385. MINUTES
The Committee considered the Minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 3rd October 2007.
RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 3rd October 2007 be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.
386. FOOTWAY IMPROVEMENTS
The Committee noted Kent Highway Services’ information circular regarding footway improvements in Maison Dieu Road.
387. COUNTRYSIDE ACCESS IMPROVEMENT PLAN
The Committee noted Councillor Mrs P M Brivio’s response to the document “Countryside Access Improvement Plan”.
Councillor Mrs P M Brivio gave an oral report on her response to the document “Countryside Access Improvement Plan” and was thanked by the Committee for completing the document.

Comments The Town Council object to this application as it considers that back garden development should not be encouraged; it also considers it would result in a traffic hazard as there would be a poor site line for cars entering and leaving no. 78 owing to it being on a hill and corner.

390. APPEALS
The Committee considered Dover District Council’s letter of 8th October 2007 regarding an appeal against refusal of planning permission on application no. DOV/07/00848.
RESOLVED: That the Chairman write to the Inspector on behalf of the Committee to support the application no. DOV/07/00848.

The Committee viewed applications for planning consent received by the Town Council after the summons and agenda for the meeting had been issued. It was agreed that the Town Clerk should respond to Dover District Council under delegated powers in Standing Order 67 in consultation with the Committee Chairman.
