Remembrance Sunday 2009

The 2009 Remembrance service was attended by upwards of 1,500 local residents who came to pay their respects at the Dover War Memorial.

There were at least 50% more wreaths laid this year than 2008 and the addition of the Sea Cadets band to the parade made a welcome change to the established tradition.

The Mayor and the Chairman of Dover District Council laid their wreaths together with the assistance of an army and airforce cadet.  There were 4 sea cadet sentries at the corners of the memorial.
